The Slingjaw Wrasse can shoot its jaw out like a tube to snatch prey, and it's one of the most extreme jaws of any fish. This yellow form is the most striking.
Why We're Obsessed
Watching it feed is wild. The jaw extends almost half its body length in a split second. A true oddball and a conversation starter.
Care: Not safe with small fish or shrimp. Keep with larger tankmates and a lid. Feed krill, silversides, and mysis. Max size about 14". Minimum tank size: 180 gallons.
