Scientific Name: Neoniphon sammara
The Sammara (Bloodspot) Squirrelfish is a silvery squirrelfish with fine dark lines and a dark red blotch on the front of the dorsal fin. Big eyes give away its nocturnal habits: it hangs near caves by day and comes out to hunt at dusk.
Care: Peaceful toward fish too large to swallow, but will eat small fish and shrimp. Feed meaty foods like mysis, krill, and silversides. Provide caves and overhangs. Max size about 12". Minimum tank size: 75 gallons.
