Ruby Red Cardinal

Scientific Name: Apogon coccineus

The Ruby Red Cardinalfish is a small, bright ruby-red cardinal with large eyes. It's nocturnal and stays near caves during the day.

Why We're Obsessed

That deep red is gorgeous, and it's a peaceful, easy fish for a reef with some shady spots.

Care: Peaceful and reef safe. Provide caves and ledges. Feed mysis and brine, ideally later in the day. Max size about 2.5". Minimum tank size: 20 gallons.
