Rock Beauty Angelfish

Scientific Name: Holacanthus tricolor

The Rock Beauty is a Florida and Caribbean angel with a bright yellow face and tail and a jet-black body, one of the boldest color combos on the reef.

Why We're Obsessed

This one has been on my dream list forever. That black-and-yellow look is a classic, and healthy, eating Rock Beauties don't come through very often. Ours go through our full quarantine before they're listed.

Care: Expert level. Not reef safe (eats sponges and nips corals and clams). Semi-aggressive. In the wild they eat mostly sponges and can be picky about switching to aquarium foods, so feed sponge-based foods, mysis, and seaweed. Max size about 14". Minimum tank size: 150 gallons.
