The Orange Shoulder Tang starts out bright yellow as a juvenile, then turns gray-brown with a bold orange bar outlined in dark blue behind the gill as it matures.
Why We're Obsessed
The color change from yellow juvenile to the orange-shoulder adult is really cool to watch. It's a hardy, peaceful tang that doesn't get enough attention.
Care: Reef safe. Fairly peaceful for a tang. Feed nori and seaweed daily plus frozen and pellet foods. Max size about 14". Minimum tank size: 180 gallons.
