Scientific Name: Aplysia californica
The California Brown Sea Hare is a large, soft sea hare from the eastern Pacific. It's one of the best eaters of hair algae.
Why We're Obsessed
Sea hares are one of the best ways to knock back a hair algae problem, and this one can clear a lot of it.
Care: Reef safe. Needs plenty of algae; once the algae runs out, they may starve, so rehome or feed nori. Prefers cooler water. Keep away from pumps and overflows. Can release purple ink when stressed.
