Nothing Leaves Until It's Ready
Koral King runs rigorous quarantine and conditioning protocols on both corals and fish before anything is available for purchase. Here is exactly what every animal goes through before it ships to you.
Coral Process
Five stages, start to finish1. Introduction
2–3 weeksOn arrival, corals are cut from excessive rock to reduce the chance of bringing in unwanted pests, given an initial dip, and placed in a holding tank for two to three weeks.
2. Dipping
MonitoredCorals stay under observation in the holding tank while receiving antibacterial dips, which treat bacterial disease and speed up healing and regeneration.
3. Holding
2 clean weeksOnce a coral clears a full two-week observation period with no issues, it moves into a separate holding tank.
4. Fallowing
70 daysCorals spend 70 days in a completely fishless system. Without a host present, any fish parasite that made it this far dies out.
5. Aquaculture
Grow-outFinally, corals go into a system dedicated to growing them out for aquaculture, alongside fish already verified clean. Only then are they ready to go to a customer.
Fish Process
Four stages, start to finish1. Acclimation
On arrivalFish go into a holding tank first so they can settle and acclimate before any treatment begins.
2. Medication
4 days min.Fish are medicated with nitrofurazone for a minimum of four days.
3. Tank Transfer
2 weeksNext is our customized tank transfer method: a fresh tank every day for two weeks, with freshwater baths between transfers. Baths use a rotation of hydrogen peroxide, formalin, methanol, copper, and praziquantel.
4. Medicated Feeding
ThroughoutAcross that whole period fish are fed medicated food containing metroplex and kanaplex. Only once they clear it are they deemed ready for sale.
That's why we can guarantee it
Every coral and fish on the site has already been through this. If something still goes wrong, our DOA policy has you covered.
