$24.99
Scientific Name: Lytechinus variegatus
The Pincushion (Variegated) Urchin is a Florida and Caribbean urchin with short spines in colors like white, green, pink, or purple. It often "decorates" itself with shells and bits of algae.
Why We're Obsessed
Pincushion urchins are great algae eaters, and watching them carry their little shell hats around is hilarious.
Care: Generally reef safe; may knock over loose frags. Eats algae; supplement with nori if needed. Acclimate slowly.
