Midnight Puffer

Scientific Name: Arothron cf. nigropunctatus

The Midnight Puffer is a dark, nearly all-black form of the Dogface Puffer.

Why We're Obsessed

Dogface puffers have some of the cutest faces in the ocean, and the all-black "midnight" form is rare and really striking.

Care: Not reef safe (may eat inverts and nip corals). Peaceful toward fish. Feed shell-on foods like clams and krill to keep its teeth trimmed. Max size about 12". Minimum tank size: 125 gallons.
