Scientific Name: Pristigenys niphonia
The Japanese White-Bar Big Eye is a deep red bigeye with very large eyes and thin white bars across the body.
Why We're Obsessed
Japanese fish rarely come through, and this one is a striking deep-red oddball. Those giant eyes look amazing in a dim tank.
Care: Peaceful, but will eat small fish and shrimp. Nocturnal; prefers caves and dim areas. Feed mysis, krill, and silversides. Max size about 8". Minimum tank size: 75 gallons.
