Scientific Name: Halymenia sp.
Dragon's Breath is a red macroalgae with broad, ruffled red blades. It's a plant, not an animal, and it adds bright red color and movement to a reef or refugium.
Why We're Obsessed
A big, healthy clump of Dragon's Breath is one of the best-looking macroalgae you can grow. It also absorbs nutrients and gives pods a place to live.
Care: Moderate light and gentle-to-moderate flow (it likes to tumble a bit). Some fish, especially tangs and rabbitfish, love to eat it. Benefits from stable iron and nutrient levels.
