Scientific Name: Synchiropus splendidus
The Green Mandarin Dragonet is covered in swirling blue, orange, and green patterns. It's one of the most colorful fish in the world. Available captive-bred or wild-caught; the price is the same for either.
Why We're Obsessed
Mandarins are always the fish people stop and stare at. Their "hovercraft" swimming is so cute.
Care: Peaceful and reef safe. Wild mandarins need a mature tank with a big copepod population; captive-bred ones usually eat frozen foods, which makes them much easier. Max size about 3". Minimum tank size: 30 gallons (larger is better for pods).
