Scientific Name: Zanclus cornutus
The Moorish Idol has bold black, white, and yellow bands, a long snout, and a long trailing dorsal filament. It's the fish everyone recognizes from "Finding Nemo."
Why We're Obsessed
There's no other fish that looks like a Moorish Idol. They have a reputation for being tough to keep, so we only bring in ones that are eating well. For the right reefer, it's a dream fish.
Care: Reef safe with caution (may pick at corals and inverts). Peaceful. Needs a large, mature tank and a varied diet of mysis, sponge foods, and seaweed. Max size about 8". Minimum tank size: 125 gallons.
