$499.99
Scientific Name: Genicanthus semifasciatus
The Masked Swallowtail Angelfish (Japanese Swallowtail) is a reef-safe angel from Japan and the western Pacific. Males have a yellow "mask" over a fine-barred gray-blue body; females are pale with a yellow face.
Why We're Obsessed
Swallowtail angels are the angels I recommend to reefers who think they can't have an angel. They don't pick at corals, they swim in the open all day, and the masked males look incredible. Japanese fish like this are a real treat to get in.
Care: Reef safe. Peaceful; keep one male per tank. Zooplankton eater: feed mysis, brine, and pellets several times a day. Max size about 8". Minimum tank size: 100 gallons.
