Horseshoe Crab
$24.99
Scientific Name: Limulus polyphemus
The Atlantic Horseshoe Crab is a living fossil: a dome-shaped, armored animal that's more closely related to spiders than to crabs.
Why We're Obsessed
Horseshoe crabs have been around for hundreds of millions of years. Watching one plow through the sand is like having a dinosaur in your tank.
Care: Needs a large, deep sand bed with plenty of food. Often starves in small or new tanks; target-feed sinking foods. Grows large; best for big systems.
