Scientific Name: Chelmon rostratus

The Copperband Butterflyfish has a long, tweezer-like snout and bright copper-orange bands outlined in black and white, plus a false eyespot near the tail.

Why We're Obsessed

Copperbands are both beautiful and useful: a lot of them will eat aiptasia. Watching one hover and pick through the rockwork with that long snout is so cool. A great-looking fish with a job to do.

Care: Reef safe with caution (may pick at feather dusters and some LPS). Peaceful. Can be picky at first; feed live or frozen mysis, clam, and blackworms. Best in a mature tank. Max size about 8". Minimum tank size: 75 gallons.
