Blue Tuxedo Urchin

Scientific Name: Mespilia globulus

The Blue Tuxedo Urchin is a small, round urchin with bright blue bands between rows of short spines.

Why We're Obsessed

Tuxedo urchins are one of the most reef-friendly urchins: small, colorful, and great algae grazers.

Care: Reef safe; may knock over loose frags or carry them around, and will graze some coralline algae. Supplement with nori if algae runs low. Acclimate slowly.
