Scientific Name: Microcanthus strigatus
The Australian Stripey is a yellow-and-black striped fish with a deep body, found in Australia and other subtropical waters.
Why We're Obsessed
Stripeys are bold, active, and look great in groups. An unusual pick that comes from the same part of the world as some of our favorite Aussie livestock.
Care: Peaceful toward fish but not reef safe (may pick at corals and inverts). Prefers slightly cooler water. Feed mysis, pellets, and seaweed. Max size about 6". Minimum tank size: 75 gallons.
