Red Mandarin Dragonet
$54.99
Scientific Name: Synchiropus splendidus (red form)
The Red Mandarin Dragonet is a red color form of the mandarin, covered in wavy blue, orange, and green patterns. Available captive-bred or wild-caught; the price is the same for either.
Why We're Obsessed
Mandarins are one of the most colorful fish on the planet, and the red form is less common. They move around the rocks like little hovercrafts.
Care: Peaceful and reef safe. Wild mandarins need a mature tank with a big copepod population; captive-bred ones usually eat frozen foods, which makes them much easier. Max size about 3". Minimum tank size: 30 gallons (larger is better for pods).
